Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hello friends! I am not sure who all looks at this but I just wanted to wish you a wonderful holiday. Some of you will be getting a late Christmas card in the mail soon. We have been so busy with guests, shopping, church, traveling...oh yeah and trying to parents 4 children that our cards have not yet been sent out. The pictures are printed, the cards are purchased, and the list is made I just haven't had the time to sit down and get them out. Sorry...but I am going to work on that this weekend.

Christmas at our house this year was great. I will post pictures soon. The kids loved all they got from Santa and us. It's nice to hear the delight-filled squeals as they opened each gift. We have also just returned from our Christmas trip around the state. We had Christmas with my family on the 26th, 10 adults and 8 children made for fun and chaos all the same. And we had Christmas with Dan's family on the 27th, and there 9 adults and 6 kids creates about the same atmosphere. It was wonderful seeing some of Dan's family we haven't seen for a while either. I think the best part was getting to introduce our family to our sweet Elizabeth.

To change the subject for a minute, she is wonderful! Such a great baby with a sweet disposition. She only cries when she needs to eat or has a dirty diaper. She has started smiling and cooing, and even better she sleeps from around 11pm to 6:30am. So I am feeling a little less sleep deprived and zombie-like. I took her for her 2 month check up the Friday before Christmas and she was 11 lbs 2 oz and 22.5 inches. But I think from the Christmas meals she is a little heavier!

I will post some pictures after I get my house a little more in order and get the pictures off the camera onto the computer[I think I'll use one of my Christmas gifts...a card reader to do that...that will be exciting...sad what you look forward to when you grow up. ;)]. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I pray that as you begin 2008 you will resolve to make your walk with the Lord your first priority.

One Month Old

Here are a few pictures of Elizabeth Marie at one month old. She weighed 9 lbs 12 oz. and was 21 inches at her one month check up. She is doing great and fitting into our family nicely. She is a great baby, sleeps and eats regularly and only cries when she wants to eat or has a messy diaper. The big kids love her and are always wanting to help when they can. Just wanted to show her off at one month old!

Look at all those people!! This was a quick family shot that someone needed for something and I thought I'd share it. I still can't believe that we have 4 kids and that Dan and I are responible for them being here and now caring for them. We are worn out be really enjoying our family and watching them grow. God has blessed us so richly!

At the Beach

Mommy's friend, Andrea came down to visit us from Illinois and we took her to see the beach. She hadn't seen the gulf of Mexico yet and wanted to take a peek. It is really a pretty place you should go there some time. Mommy got some cute pictures of me (or so I heard her say) and she wanted to share them with you. I was very interested in the birds and wasn't real sure what to think of the water. I have been to the beach before but I was younger and don't really remember. I am sure that we will go a lot more. Enjoy these fun pictures.

White Girls

Here are our girls! This is what happens when you let a 20 month old eat an oreo with red filling! Isn't she cute! Here are a couple pictures of Elizabeth, sorry for the one of her on the dark bedding, I didn't intend to post that one and couldn't figure out how to remove it, so here it is anyway and she's looking cute snoozing. And for some reason unknown to me everything is underlined! I am not sure how to turn that off either!
Just for a quick update, life here is still kind of crazy. Four kids is a lot of little people running around, but I think we are begining to learn how to manage them. I even managed to bathe 3 kids, and get them all in bed before 8:15pm and then sit down to feed a baby all by myself. dan was at a meeting and that left me to fend for myself. I never knew you could nurse a baby and tuck kids into bed all at the same time. It was not easy and I don't want to brag too much b/c I would hate to be responsible for doing that way every night. The boys are out of school this week for Fall Break but are playing at the babysitters so that I can clean my house and get ready for company for the next few weeks. I am looking forward to wonderful visits with some very dear friends. Anyway, just wanted to post a new picture of Elizabeth and show off Anna's "pretty" red face.

Hospital Stay

After we came home Elizabeth started getting more and more jaundice. When we went for a weight check on Monday morning they also sent us to the lab for a bilirubin check and after the drive all the way back home (about an hour drive) they called us and said that we needed to come to the hospital to be admitted because her jaundice was so high. After some tears and frustration and some fears we got her all set up and put under the lamp. We stayed for two nights and we were released on Wednesday night. She recovered well and her bilirubin is down. It's amazing how you envision the coming home of each of your children and for our fourth baby I never dreamed we would spend more time in the hospital the first week of her life than we did at home. But praise God we are home now, she is well and we are home enjoying life. Okay, we are trying to enjoy life but life with four kids all under the age of 6 is a little on the hectic side. Check in with us in a few weeks and maybe we will be enjoying life with a little less stress, and then again maybe not! :)

Jonah loves to hold Elizabeth all alone!
Elias has a new found love for Elizabeth and cannot walk by her without kissing her on the head! It's really sweet.
This is Aunt Becky, my best friend from college. She came to help us out on the first weekend we were home. It was great having her here and we really appreciated all her hard work and help! Thanks Bec! We love you.
